The Sound of Music

Jack and I have been able to listen to some wonderful music these past few days. Thursday night was the SLU Wind Symphony Fall Concert. Justin got us some wonderful seats in the balcony. With the acoustics in the Columbia, everything was so well blended when it got to us. One of the foremost saxophone players in the world, Eugene Rousseau, performed several pieces with them. Afterwards, Justin and Melissa went out to eat with us. We enjoyed getting to spend some time with them. It was a very enjoyable evening.

Sunday afternoon the SLU Wind Symphony performed again at an event known as Picnic and Pops. There were several ensembles, duets, etc. Even singing by the cast of The Sound of Music that is being performed there in Hammond. This performance was in the University Center - which is the basketball coliseum. Not the best acoustics, but once again they sounded great.

Of course, I took my camera Thursday night. Hard to get pictures from that far away, with the lighting and no tripod. I got a few decent shots, as long as you don't look too close.
