Katrina's Coming

I hope her visit is a short one, but I think from what they are saying she is going to be a memorable visit. We were here when Andrew came through and he was a bad one. It appears that Katrina is going to outdo him. My prayers are especially with all of those people who live in and around New Orleans. Looks like this could be the nightmare that has been avoided for years. At this stage about all we can do is pray for the safety of all people. From the traffic around here it looks like a lot of people have followed the evacuation orders and have headed out. I'm thankful for the technology we have and the warnings we have now when something like Katrina is coming.

It's hard to think about the days and weeks to come. It looks like Katrina is going to have wide spread implications not only here in Southeast Louisiana, but the entire United States. Gas prices look like they will spiral even further up, there will be industries and commerce having to rebuild and a lot of homes destroyed. Being without electricity and water will be hard - especially in August. And there is always the worry of disease, snakes, etc. All we can do is pray, pray and pray some more that God will get us through this.
